So good to see photography legend Bruce Weber shooting kids fashion pictures again in this fun campaign for Moncler, the winter sports gear company that has reinvented its classic padded jackets for a new generation with trend led colours and styling.

Based on a spoof film release called “Don’t steal the jacket” the shoot features the children’s winter 2011 collection and a few choice doggy items too!

I quickly passed by the V&A at the weekend and ran in hoping to catch some of the Yohji Yamamoto exhibition. I knew my time was limited but was hoping to photograph some of the exhibits scattered around the V&A and do the full exhibition at a later date.

Well I didn’t get very far as I was sidetracked into the shop where a selection of T-shirts and this great floral sack bag are on sale as well as the exhaustive catalogue. So after 15 minutes deciding whether to buy the floral Furoshiki bag or not (still not decided – it is £85 after all)  I didn’t get much else photographed but just to say, this is one exhibition not to miss.

The website of the V&A has some great information about the exhibition as well as a personal blog about its setting up and info on two other concurrent related exhibitions running in Wapping and other special events.

I still have one of the original Nick Knight catalogues from the 80’s and it is one of my most treasured pieces from my days in womenswear. The catalogue reproduces much from that era and also has a cover image from Nick Knight that could have been an original photo.

French brand  Antik Batik is going back to its roots with an exhibition of photographs from Peru in its Paris flagship store during Paris Fashion week.

I always loved the ethnic-inspired collections of its children’s fashion line but never knew it was partly inspired by Peruvian traditional dress.

The exhibition is shot by French photographer Thierry Le Gouès, the snapshots blend fashion and Peruvian culture and will be available for sale starting at 800 euros. An accompanying book is also available at Antik Batik stores and other Parisian outlets.

See if you can spot the Peruvian inspiration in the autumn winter collection from Antik Batik enfant below,

Thanks to Design for Mankind my attention was drawn to the Land Art of Richard Shilling a Land Artist and photographer and then I discovered he has launched a wonderful Land Art for Kids blog, detailing how to create your own Land Art with kids from 3-8 years which you can also upload onto his site.

Have a look at his main site with his gallery, grab the instructions at Land Art for Kids and get going this weekend. It is also a wonderful idea for schools to get involved with Land Art projects.

By the way I also found some more great Land Art at Design Squish too, so thanks to 2 of my new favorite blogs for all that is natural and free.

Top children’s fashion photographer Luca Zordan has just finished a project photographing children in South Africa for the MaAfrika Tikkun charity (of which Nelson Mandela is the Chief Patron) to support orphans and vulnerable children in South Africa.

Timed to co-incide with the World Cup in Africa, there is an exhibition at the MINA GALLERY in New York on the 16th June and a glossy book for sale.

The proceeds from the sale of the book will subsidise sports and soccer programs for HIV/AIDS affected orphans and vulnerable children in 6 townships.

Luca worked with long time collaborator stylist Alethea Gold on the project which followed the success of another charity book Children of China which was distributed during the Beijing Olympics.
