Christmas baubles are oversized at Petersham Nurseries

One of the most inspirational places in London is the garden centre and restaurant at Petersham Nurseries near Richmond in London.

Their merchandise is bought with such good taste that everything there is desirable and inspiration there for this Christmas is simple but so effective with giant glass baubles the main decoration and subtle trees decorated with red  branches and white lights only.

Its a perfect idea for last minute decorating, adds the festive touch without being overwhelming.

When I visited the tea rooms were packed with shoppers having mid morning coffee and cakes baked from the restaurant despite the weather having turned towards freezing and the visitors were sat in wooden sheds and inside heated greenhouses while snow drifted down outside.
