What a great pedigree the founders of Jessie and James, a new children’s fashion label, have got. James was a former menswear designer at Vivienne Westwood and Jessica was the head pattern cutter.
The birth of their son Billy has led them to create a range for kids aged 3 months to 3 years, the 23 pieces will debut at Bubble London 19th and 20th June to be in store for summer 2012.
The first range is titled “Under Construction” and features pima cotton jersey as the main fabric, navy, red and beige the key colours. Designs are loosely based on inspiration from a Rubicks cube and feature raw edges, assymetric cutting and can be comined in different ways.

Pictures from Playtime Tokyo children’s fashion fair for winter 2011
February 27, 2011
For those of you curious as to what this fair is like I noticed there are pictures on the Playtime Tokyo website. The fair looks a smaller affair than Paris and not as eclectic.
I am loving the giant clothing display and the white balloon shrimp display though!

January 5, 2011
Its that time of year again, Kidswear kicks off a new season in January with the trade shows for children’s top fashion brands showing next winter 2011. For those still to book or unsure what to visit here is a rundown of what is on when;
Jan 16th – 17th – Kleine Fabriek in Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Jan 20th – 22nd – Pitti Bimbo 72 in Florence, Italy
Jan 21st – 23rd – Fimi in Valencia, Spain. An unfortunate overlap there.
Jan 23rd – 25th – ENK Children’s club in New York, USA
Jan 29th – 31st – Playtime Paris, France
Jan 30th – 31st – Bubble London, England. Another overlap which is a shame.
Feb 3rd – 6th – CPH Kids in Copenhagen, Denmark, also CIFF Kids at the same time.
Feb 22nd – 24th – Playtime Tokyo, Japan
Showing at Kleine Fabriek is this knit collection by the English brand Teeny Tini, their quirky styling seems to be a good fit for the Dutch trade fair and I love these pictures.
