I am currently previewing summer 2012 children’s fashion ranges and I am seeing one shade come up again and again, hot orange, for boys and girls, its currently the favourite of all the bold brights for next summer, beating hot yellow, vibrant green and Yves Klein blue by a strong margin.
Going to the supermarket reminded me of another time of year when orange is the key colour as all the pumpkin deliveries are now in!
Here are a few class items from the fashion shows at Pitti Bimbo 73 earlier this year.

My London Girl will be launching with a store in Westfield later this year in time for the Christmas season hoping to catch girls aged 3-12 in time for the party season with a fashion range made for both owner and doll designed by David Charles.
Well known as a designer of girls party dresses stocked in upmarket boutiques and Harrods for many years now and an exhibitor at the Pitti Bimbo fashion fair in Florence, David Charles is a well established name but this must have been his most unusual task of all.
Inspired by a US concept doll store where the Mini Me dolls are attached to a full on lifestyle branding but with a more fun and relaxed attitude for the UK, the range is produced by child educator Kathryn Fleetwood-Neagle and her husband Paul Neagle.
The 42cm dolls are available in seven different skin tones and with 25 outfits and there are fourteen baby dolls too, prices will start from £40 for the baby dolls, £79 for the 49cm dolls and outfits from £20 for dolls and from £35 for the girls themselves with a whole range of additional accessories. I will post an online link when it becomes available.

There are all sorts, trilby’s, beanies, wooly pull ons, caps, trapper hats you name it there is a style to suit every shape for next winter.
Plus with Ski style and mountain influences a hot trend D&G have even produced their own ski helmet and goggles for kids.
Chanel eat your heart out, you didn’t get there first on this one!
Seriously though a hat is often the small accessory that absolutely makes the outfit on kids, they are really cute and when the weather is really cold make sure that not too much heat escapes from those growing brains.

So, for today a little celebration of the best of summer 2011 from the best Italian children’s fashion labels.

Children’s fashion trade shows for winter 2011, it all starts soon, here is a run down
January 5, 2011
Its that time of year again, Kidswear kicks off a new season in January with the trade shows for children’s top fashion brands showing next winter 2011. For those still to book or unsure what to visit here is a rundown of what is on when;
Jan 16th – 17th – Kleine Fabriek in Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Jan 20th – 22nd – Pitti Bimbo 72 in Florence, Italy
Jan 21st – 23rd – Fimi in Valencia, Spain. An unfortunate overlap there.
Jan 23rd – 25th – ENK Children’s club in New York, USA
Jan 29th – 31st – Playtime Paris, France
Jan 30th – 31st – Bubble London, England. Another overlap which is a shame.
Feb 3rd – 6th – CPH Kids in Copenhagen, Denmark, also CIFF Kids at the same time.
Feb 22nd – 24th – Playtime Tokyo, Japan
Showing at Kleine Fabriek is this knit collection by the English brand Teeny Tini, their quirky styling seems to be a good fit for the Dutch trade fair and I love these pictures.

One of the best selling Italian brands in the UK is Monnalisa.
Its a well established label that concentrates on both occasion wear and high end fashion styled clothing and always picks up on current trends but in a very commercial way which has helped it to survive many seasons.
It has one of the most prestigious fashion shows at the Pitti Bimbo season for buyers and press usually an evening event with a buffet. A closer look at some of the accessories the line produces is below.
And then a catwalk shot to finish.
