Gant showed their kids fashion for summer 2012 yesterday and kept to the clean cut preppie style they are renowned for with some neat little touches with contrast collar flip ups and mixed colour striped shirting.
The theme was the USA whereas winter had been about the UK classics of tartan and tweed. This was all California sunshine and Hamptons beach chic.
They also showed their expanded home interiors offering which is gaining a lot of fans in the UK. Pure cottons and linens are woven into vintage looking throws and cushions with chunky cotton knits in nautical or natural tones are key here and the textiles are really fab. Vintage looking embroidery decorates the plainer items in a simple country mode.

Armani Junior expansion plan, Giorgio’s children’s fashion spreads around the world

An amazing 10 new Armani Junior stores are to open worldwide between October and November this year in some of the fastest growing cities in the world.
In the line up are Kuwait, Yerevan, Nanjing, London (instore at Harrods), Manchester ( instore at House of Fraser), Sydney ( instore at David Jones), Chengdu, Quingdao, Taiwan and Bangkok.
How is that for a trip around the world!
Armani Junior offers children’s fashion from 0-16 years with an emphasis on tailored and jeans items, basic T-shirts and easy to wear jersey pieces and a selection of smarter occasion wear pieces, especially for the Christmas party season.

An agreement has been announced between Spazio Sei Srl, one of the largest Italian children’s fashion specialist companies and Marni for a kids fashion line for Fall/winter 2012-13.
Marni is designed by Consuelo Castiglioni and is one of the world’s most sought after fashion labels, appealing to a sophisticated clientale with eclectic tastes.
They have been dabbling in children’s fashion for a while with a capsule collection for girls aged between 2-12 available in Harrods but this new license will see a full range produced with a much wider distribution than has been achieved in the past.

Aravore in Crouch End, a chic kids fashion store in a chic road!

Aravore are well known for their quality organic and ethical children’s fashion range. As one of the leading UK ethical fashion design companies they recently won the Eco fashion Junior Magazine award and had a little celebration in their Park Rd, Crouch End store.
Not a part of town I am very familiar with but I was taken with how great the area is for shopping, Park Road has a fantastic cross section of stores selling mid-century modern desirables such as Solomon antiques shown below, vintage and new eclectic clothing and a wonderful chandelier store where the owner makes modern chandeliers in the classic Italian style.
Well worth a visit to the area, the Aravore store is a sweet boutique and has some quirky little gift items as well as the ever expanding superb kids and baby fashion and gift ranges.

New webstore launch for Kidscase and a sneak peak at their summer 2012 unique Kids fashion collection

Exciting news for Kidscase fans as they launched their new webstore on their restyled website last Friday here showcasing the winter 2011 children’s fashion collection I featured on preview here.
Its a fantastically chic and clear site to look at and has a large choice of the Kidscase range from little newborn babies 1 month sizing to age 11 for boys and girls. The clothes are well made in mostly organic yarns and use edgy colour combinations which are especially refreshing for the baby sizes.
New items for the summer are the striped playsuits, a cotton print of irregular diamonds and cool hooded cotton coats.

One of my favourite US kids fashion brands has made a collaboration with Anthropologie for fall fashion in the US and its such a perfect fit.
Kicokids has a fun, retro yet modern aesthetic that is right in key with Anthropologie’s customers and designer Tia Cibani has chosen some of the key components of her winter 2011 collection to be represented there.
The collection will be available online and in key stores throughout the USA. Look out for the patchwork printed silk skirts with net petticoats and the padded velvet pea coats which are just so luxurious.

Baby Dior for summer 2012, adorably chic with a classic twist for fashionable babies

For next summer babies will be looking so adorable in the Baby Dior collection. It is chic but simple and does away with all those pastel blues and pinks using a far more sophisticated colour palette and a simple straight foreward cut.
The volume gathered at the neckline cut works really well for babies as I can vouch, having done many shoots with the little ones.
The accessories are brilliant as well, I would love a larger version of the fine check sandal myself!

The new Monsoon campaign is on line and there are some very sweet images shot by UK based children’s photographer Julia Bostock.
Monsoon always has a very good selection of party dresses, tutu skirts and girly accessories perfect for the upcoming winter party season. They are also making a big effort with the boys collection and using their ethnic signature producing some cool chunky winter knits for the boys.
Julia has also shot a really sweet picture for Marie- Chantal‘s new winter publicity too, I love the retro feel to it, another great party look too!

Camper and the Volvo Round the World yacht race in Barcelona, what a cool city that is!

Having never been before I was delighted to visit Barcelona and catch up with the Camper yacht before it starts the Volvo Round the World race in Alicante in April.
The yacht is pure cool with fantastic graphic patterned sails by London design company Farrow and a dark red non slip deck and side to contrast with the mainly white sail. Its going to be the best looking boat out there. Crew uniforms and footwear of course are by Camper and the super bendy deck shoes have a lot of new technology put into them. Kids will have a version too next year.
Although the weather was grey my first day there it brightened up the next and I saw the well known Barcelona beach style in full glory, nothing beats a city by the sea!
It also gave me a chance to see some of the mad Antoni Gaudi buildings in real life, there seems to be a lot of restoration work on the cathedral and some others look well cared for but the apartments I thought needed a bit of a spring clean, see below.

That crazy Catalan architect Gaudi, the Casa Batlló built in 1906-8 has a facade that is meant to be dragon skin.
The La Pedrera apartments by Gaudi built in 1906 -10 look as if they need a good scrub down now.
